Adventurer Pets is a single and competitive multiplayer platformer currently available for Xbox Live for the low price of 80 points (in Xbox Live, select the Community Games tab, Action Adventure, then select Adventurer Pets, or simply click here to send the game to your Xbox 360). It supports 1-4 players locally and has four different characters based on the most popular household pets.
We at Arrogancy Games are old school gamers, and our first “quick” attempt at creating a game for X-Box Live was a kind of homage/update to the classic Commodore 64 game, Floyd of the Jungle. While the graphics are high definition and decidedly new school, the core gameplay and challenge is straight from 1984, and this game was made to appeal to those old-schoolers like us looking for this type of experience. It is also highly competitive in nature, created specifically to get 2-4 people together to race to the goal and screw each other over along the way with the various powerups and traps that can be found within the levels.
TIPS AND TECHNIQUES
- Adventurer Pets is an extremely "old school" title and as such, tight jumps and precise movements are key.
- Movement is momentum based - you will need to get a running start before making tight jumps. Starting from a standstill may not give you enough speed to escape traps or make the next jump.
- Powerups can be the difference between victory and losing in a multiplayer game. Learn what each powerup does, and how you can use it to your advantage.
- You can push players into enemies and traps. Do this as much as possible.
